ClauseWize (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use clausewize.com (the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.

Payment Information: Processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.

Uploaded Documents: PDF contracts you upload for analysis.

Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, scan count, and timestamps.

Device Data: Browser type, operating system, and IP address (collected automatically).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: (a) provide contract analysis services; (b) process payments; (c) send transactional emails (reports, receipts); (d) improve our AI analysis quality; (e) comply with legal obligations.

3. Document Processing

When you upload a contract, the text is extracted and sent to our AI provider (Anthropic/Claude) for analysis. Anthropic does not use your data for model training under our agreement. The extracted text is stored in our database to enable report access, sharing, and the chat feature. You may request deletion of your data at any time.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

5. Data Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest. Access to production databases is restricted. We follow industry-standard security practices. However, no system is 100% secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Uploaded contracts and reports are retained until you delete them or your account. Anonymized, aggregate usage data may be retained indefinitely for product improvement.

7. Your Rights

You may: (a) access your data through your dashboard; (b) export your reports; (c) request deletion of your account and data by contacting us; (d) opt out of marketing emails (transactional emails cannot be opted out while your account is active).

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for anonymous usage tracking (no cookies required). We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

9. Children

The Service is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
